Astazi a fost anuntata pe net lansarea unei noi companii - Corvus Watch Co. ce doreste a se specializa in productia de ceasuri dupa specificatii militare.
In fapt reeditari ale unor modele care au facut istorie si sunt la mare cautare printre colectionari astazi.
Primul ceas ce va fi realizat are la baza doua specificatii militare US | MIL-SHIPS-W-2181 si MIL-SHIPS- W-22176A | in baza carora a fost realizat un prototip UDT de catre Bulova, respectiv mult mai celebrul Tornek-Rayville TR-900, produs de Blancpain.
Am semnalat aceasta "aparitie" nu atat pentru ceasurile ce si le propune a le realiza cat pentru a-mi ilustra bucuria ca inca mai sunt exemple de pasionati care-si "urmeaza calea".
camfam, un pasionat al ceasurilor militare si de scufundare, membru MWR este unul dintre initiatorii proiectului si cel care a facut astazi anuntul.

What is a Corvus?

Corvus Watch Company gets its name from the Latin word for “raven.” The raven has long been a powerful figure in myth and legend.
The Vikings believed:

Marcus Corvus The Romans saw the raven as a symbol of stength. During a battle with the Gauls, the Roman general Marcus Valerius accepted the challenge of one-on-one combat with the Gaul’s champion, a gigantic warrior. Valerius killed the giant with the assistance of a raven which perched on his helmet and flew at the face of his opponent every time Valerius attacked. Valerius won the ensuing battle and became one of Rome’s greatest heroes, taking the name Marcus Valerius Corvus.

The corvus was the name given to a revolutionary weapon used by the Roman Navy to defeat the Carthaginians. Similar to a giant wooden claw, Roman boat ships would maneuver close and drop the corvus from the bow onto the deck of the enemy ship. The two ships would be linked together, and Roman legionaires would clamber over and capture the ship. Later, the Romans used a siege engine with a huge grappling hook, also called a corvus to pull down fortifications.

No wonder that in more recent times it has been said:
The Raven has been known and described from the earliest times, and is a resident of almost every country in the world. Its somber appearance, discordant croak, and funereal aspect have universally excited emotions of fear and dread.

Interesanta aparitie, si abia astept pozele reale ale ceasului.
Insa 1300 dolari pentru acest ceas este extrem de mult, cu toata tehnologia inovatoare folosita de mult in alte ceasuri.
Cand ma gandesc ca pentru acest model de ceas exista deja doua variante amandoua foarte bune si care au rezistat probei timpului, oferite la un pret corect, nu prea imi vine sa dau banii pe el.

Claudiu, la comenzi de 100 buc. mecanisme 2824 cam care ar fi nivelul de pret/buc.?

Poate un e-mail la ETA direct ar rezolva acest mister. In orice caz sa ceri informatii la "ETA movement complete". Eu am trimis un mesaj si astept sa vad ce raspuns vine.
aici 10+ costa 139$ bucata. Dar eu m-as uita si la alte mecanisme - pe aceeasi pagina avem ETA 2879 care costa doar 89$/bucata.

Asa este,productia ETA este vinduta pina in 2010.
Ofrei poate mai are ceva pe stoc,dar vor disparea.
pretul la en-gros iasa undeva la 100 euro,varianta cea mai ieftina la 2824-2.

pt. perseverenta, munca si luatul in serios a pasiunii lor ,
pt increderea ca este O LUME care sa aprecieze omagiul
adus valorilor din trecut sau noilor tendinte.

RESPECT pentru cei care care prin munca isi promoveaza
o idee pana devine palpabila, vezi Corvus, Prometheus
ca sa ii numesc numai pe cei mai nou aparuti 'in piata'.

Nu mai zic de montana si proiectul lui pentru Romania !
