The Carl Brashear Limited Edition is the first Oris watch to be made in bronze, a naturally aging material used in deep-sea diving helmets of the 1950s. As already mentioned above it takes its aesthetic from the Divers Sixty-Five, but at 42 mm in diameter.
Bronze is initially bright and shiny, and then darkens as its copper content reacts with carbon dioxide and moisture. So in contrary to other bronze watches this is a natural bronze and not a treated one that will never change its look. How boring is the latter!
The Oris diver will have its unique relationship with its owner! This means that each of the limited run of 2,000 pieces will develop a unique patina over time and start to look better and better …
